If you’re looking for a classic screening shrub that also happens to produce beautiful berries and benefit bees, look no further than Needlepoint Holly. It grows quickly and handles pruning very well, staying thick and green all year.

Because of the spines on the leaves, it makes an impenetrable hedge that intruders (including deer) will avoid—but you’ll also want to keep it away from walkways and seating areas for the same reason.
