Ingredients

Tall fescue grass seed blend.

A mix of heat-tolerant fescue varieties bred to handle high temps and bounce back from summer stress.

9-0-2 fertilizer blend.

Nitrogen fuels new grass growth. Potassium helps your lawn stand up to heat and drought.

Limestone.

Helps soil pH so nutrients actually reach your grass roots instead of sitting locked in the dirt.

Gypsum.

Helps compacted soil and improves drainage without changing pH. Roots grow deeper, grass gets tougher.

Dried poultry waste.

A slow-release organic nitrogen source that feeds your soil biology over time, not just the grass on top.

How to use

Apply when daily average temps are between 60 and 75 degrees F. Early fall or late spring tend to be the sweet spot.

Mow your lawn and remove clippings before you start.

Apply at a rate of 10 lbs per 1,500 sq ft. Two bags cover up to 3,000 sq ft total.

Water lightly after application. Keep soil moist but not saturated until new grass reaches about 2 inches tall.

Expect to see results in 8 to 21 days depending on conditions.

Reapply every 6 weeks during the growing season, up to 4 times per year.

When is the best time to apply Heat Tolerant Seed + Feed?

Heat Tolerant Seed + Feed works best when daily average temperatures stay between 60 and 75 degrees F. That typically means early fall or late spring.

Apply too early or too late and a cold snap can stall germination. Mornings or evenings are the ideal time of day to spread it.

What type of grass seed is in Heat Tolerant Seed + Feed?

Heat Tolerant Seed + Feed contains a premium tall fescue grass seed blend selected for heat and drought resistance. Tall fescue is a cool-season grass that handles summer stress better than most, making it a strong fit for lawns in transitional climate zones.

Can I use Heat Tolerant Seed + Feed for overseeding?

Heat Tolerant Seed + Feed is designed for overseeding existing lawns, not for starting a new yard from scratch. Spread it across your full lawn to thicken thin turf and improve heat tolerance. For bare patches, pair it with Bare Repair for targeted spot coverage.

How long does it take to see results?

Heat Tolerant Seed + Feed shows visible greening and germination in 8 to 21 days when applied correctly and watered consistently. Keep the soil moist but not saturated until new grass reaches about 2 inches in height, then return to your normal watering schedule.

Can I use Heat Tolerant Seed + Feed with other Sunday fertilizers?

Do not apply Heat Tolerant Seed + Feed and other Sunday fertilizers at the same time. Wait 4 to 6 weeks between applications. Applying two fertilizers together can cause overfertilization or damage to actively growing grass.

How is Heat Tolerant Seed + Feed different from buying seed and fertilizer separately?

Heat Tolerant Seed + Feed combines grass seed, a 9-0-2 fertilizer blend, and soil conditioners like limestone and gypsum in one bag. You get seeding, feeding, and soil improvement in a single 20-minute application instead of buying and applying three products separately.
