First brought to the U.S. by way of Charleson, S.C. in the 1700s, gardenias earned a fast following because of their incredible fragrance. August Beauty is no different, with glossy evergreen foliage that comes to life with sweetly scented pure white blooms every spring. In addition to their beloved fragrance (popular in perfumes!), the flowers are nice to look at and often picked for corsages and bouquets.
